Chất thải từ bồn cầu chảy xuống ngăn chứa. Tại đây, các loại nấm và vi khuẩn sẽ tạo ra quá trình phân hủy. Chất thải sau khi được phân hủy chuyển hóa thành bùn, trừ các chất thải rắn hoặc tóc, kim loại,….

Các chất thải được phân hủy chuyển sang ngăn lắng và đọng lại ở phía dưới. Sau thời gian chúng được đào thải ra ngoài. Sau quá trình này, trong nước chỉ còn lại vật lơ lửng. Nước thải sẽ theo đường ống thoát nước đi ra ngoài.

Kỹ thuật xây dựng bể phốt 3 ngăn

Dưới đây là cách xây dựng bể phốt 3 ngăn đạt tiêu chuẩn:

Bể làm bằng chất liệu bê tông

Với loại bể phốt này, vị trí lắp và đường nối các ống qua các ngăn bể phốt phải thực hiện chống thấm và dùng gioăng cao su bọc bên ngoài để tránh bị rò rỉ nước.

Các đường ống dẫn nữa ra – vào giữa các ngăn phải lắp đặt so le với nhau để quãng đường nước chảy trong bể dài nhất, tránh bị chảy tắt. Tốt nhất là đặt ống dẫn nước thải trước khi vào bể chứa theo chiều ngang với độ dốc ~ 2%, chiều dài không dài quá 12m.

Ống dẫn chất thải vào và ra khỏi bể cần lắp ống hình chữ T với đường kính tối thiểu 100mm. Đầu trên cao hơn mặt nước, đầu dưới ngập nước khoảng 400mm.

Các ngăn trong bể phốt được thông với nhau bằng đường ống dẫn nước làm bằng cút chữ L ngược với đường tính tối thiểu 100mm. Cút hoặc lỗ thông đặt cách đáy bể 500mm trở lên.

Bể phốt xây bằng gạch nung

Với thiết kế bể phốt bằng gạch nung cần xây tường đôi với độ dày 220mm hoặc dày hơn. Xếp gạch một hàng dọc và một hàng ngang. Nên dùng gạch đặc có mác 75 và vữa xi măng, cát vàng với mác 75 để đảm bảo chất lượng.

Bề mặt trong và ngoài của bể phải được trét vữa xi măng cát vàng mác 75, độ dày 20mm. Phía ngoài đánh màu xi măng nguyên chất có khả năng chống thấm.

Các góc của bể phốt được trét xi măng. Đặt các tấm lưới thép kích thước 10x10mm chống thấm cho bể. nếu mực nước ngầm cao, cần phải chèn thêm lớp đất sét với độ dày 100mm trở lên quanh bể.

Một số mẹo sử dụng bể phốt bền lâu

  • Đặt thêm ống siphon khi thiết kế bể phốt để tăng thể tích và tốc độ dòng chảy đến ngăn lọc. Từ đó kéo dài tuổi thọ đường ống.
  • Bên cạnh nhiệt độ, lưu lượng dòng nước thì thời gian chứa chất thải cũng ảnh hưởng đến hoạt động của bể phốt. Thiết kế bể phốt cần đảm bảo kín, khít, chống thấm.
  • Nấm, vi khuẩn, vi sinh vật có vai trò quyết định đến khả năng hoạt động của bể phốt. Do đó, tránh sử dụng các chất tẩy rửa mạnh hay xà phòng xuống bồn cầu.
  • Sử dụng bùn vi sinh để chất thải được phân hủy nhanh.
